feeling overwhelmed and exhausted is a common experience for parents of teens with PDA autism. Illuminate provides tools not only to support your child but also to prioritize your well-being, helping you manage stress and prevent burnout.

“The S.A.F.E. framework we followed inside the Illuminate program completely changed how I approach parenting my PDA child. For the first time, I feel like I truly understand them… AND myself.  I appreciated the amount of personal support that I received both from Amy as well as the group.  The 8 weeks went by too quickly!!"

Does this sound like you?

01

You wake up already anxious, wondering what kind of day it will be—and bracing for the next meltdown.

02

You’re constantly walking on eggshells, trying not to trigger your teen's threat response (but it feels like anything could).

03

You've read all the books, tried all the strategies, and nothing seems to “work” the way it’s supposed to.

04

You're tired of well-meaning advice that doesn’t apply to PDA… and makes you feel like the problem.

05

You’re burning out—emotionally, mentally, even physically - and you're starting to wonder if peace is even possible.

06

You want to connect with your teen, but their walls are up… and you’re not sure how to reach them.

07

You’re craving support, tools, and community that actually understand your child’s unique nervous system—and yours.

8 short weeks.

That's all it takes to make a difference in your parenting and your stress level!

As your child enters adolescence, new challenges emerge. The quest for independence, combined with the nuances of PDA autism, can intensify household dynamics. Illuminate offers strategies tailored to navigate these teenage transitions with empathy and effectiveness.

This 8-week small group coaching program is built for parents like you—who love your child fiercely but are exhausted by the daily unpredictability, the constant emotional negotiation, and the deep grief of watching your child struggle.

Each week, you’ll receive support through nervous system-informed education, gentle mindset shifts, and concrete tools.

  • Your child is between the ages of 10–18 and identifies with (or is diagnosed with, but diagnosis is not required) Pathological Demand Avoidance.

  • You’ve tried therapy, behavior plans, parenting books—and nothing seems to stick.

  • You’re looking for a parenting approach that centers connection, regulation, and real-life sustainability.

  • You’re ready to move from survival mode to a new way of being.

It's not for you if…

  • You’re looking for behaviorist tools or reward systems

  • You want a quick fix or discipline strategy

  • You’re not open to self-reflection or change in your parenting style

why s.a.f.e. works when other strategies don't

If you’ve tried behavior plans, parenting books, or even traditional therapy—and nothing has worked for your PDA child—you are not alone.

Most approaches focus on managing behavior.
But PDA isn’t a behavior problem.
It’s a nervous system response to perceived threat.

That’s why I created the S.A.F.E. framework—a parenting model that helps you support your teen's regulation, reduce pushback and meltdowns, and finally build the connection you’ve been longing for.

S.A.F.E.™ Stands for:

S – Sensory & Safety
Learn how to create the foundation of felt safety that your teen desperately needs—but can’t always articulate.

A – Acceptance & Attunement
Build trust without invading autonomy. Attune to your teen’s needs in a way that respects their space and identity.

F – Flexibility & Felt Experience
Shift from control to collaboration. Adapt your parenting based on your teen’s real-time internal state.

E – Emotional Co-Regulation
Support your teen’s dysregulation without getting pulled into emotional chaos. Learn to regulate yourself, first.

This isn’t about fixing your child.
It’s about seeing them clearly, supporting them wisely, and building a home where both of you can exhale.

And inside Illuminate, you won’t just learn the S.A.F.E.™ framework—you’ll have guided support to live it, integrate it, and return to it again and again.

Here's what others are saying

"Amy’s support came at a critical time for our family. Her deep understanding of PDA gave us the tools and confidence we desperately needed."

Jen M.

"We gained more insight, emotional support, and practical help from Amy than from years of other services. She just gets it."
